   Actually, you can’t. At least, Mediafire says the file is ready but when you click to download, nothing happens except the page timing out, every time. I’m on 8mbit so it’s not my connection thats the issue.

   I’d gladly host the file for a while in exchange for the file. Just tell me your email addy and I’ll give you an ftp to up it and I will share it on HTTP.

    The first one is working fine and has all the files within.
    I’ve just downloaded it (46 MB) and unrar it. All the templates are there.
    Maybe you didn’t manage to download all the archive. See if the archive that you have downloaded has 46 MB !

    Alexandre you’ll need to add the extracted files from the archive to your ftp, on the folder called “templates”.
    So go and search for templates folder that should be in the root folder of your site, then you’ll see the defaul template. Please the folder for the sports template there and then activate you’re theme from the admin panel.

     The easy way to install!!!!! First you can only use one of the templates. Pick the one you want to use. You must have oscommerce running on your PC or server. Load these files to a new folder on your server or PC. Do not unzip files to your root dir because it will over right the files. Once you have selected the template that you will use, unzip the file to the new folder. warning!!!!! Do not delete your old files. Rename them if you need them. If you have made changes to the oscommerce store file this will not work. This way is for a new setup. After you unzip the files in the new folder right click on the folder (catalog) and copy files. Go to your oscommerce in your root dir and paste the folder to the root oscommerce. Have fun

     the thing is i have my website hosted at http://www.hostmonster.com. so there, i installed oscommerce through the fantastico script which automatically instally oscommerce for u. therefore, there are no catalog folder or templates folder in my oscommerce archives there…can someone please guide me on how to install these templates?

     I will try again to explain the install process. if you have made changes to you store already, this will not work It is for a new installalation only. download the file to your Pc or server. Unzip these files to a new folder (create a new folder)
     Name it something you can find easy. Unzip these files and decide on the template you are going to use. i suppose when you download the templates, there are going to be 13 different zipfiles in the ra file you download. You must choose one. i say again if you have made changes to your store already this will not work. That is another story. Unzip one of the templates zip (your choice) to your folder that you have the catalog in. It will replace all the files that came with the oscommerce. If you are hosting somewhere besides your own server then you must ftp the files to whom ever you are hosting with. I hope that helps. If you would like to see how it looks are what it does just download a new copy of oscommerce to a new folder on your pc or server (not in the root directory) and unzip the template to it. I keep 3 copies of oscommerce on my server, one for my store, one for backup and one to keep the files like they were unchanged.

     Hello,

     With a program from my host I install the oscommerce 2.2. After that I replace the basic files with all the files of the beauty template, but when I’m done I get all the time the same error:
     Warning: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: Access denied for user ‘root’@'localhost’ (using password: NO) in /usr/home/****/domains/*****/public_html/includes/functions/database.php on line 19
     Unable to connect to database server!

     What do I have to do? Can somebody tell me that? Do I have to change settings in Mysql and how do I do that?

     I have checked 4 of these templates and there seems to be several bugs in them. It template comes with a Pdf install help.
     Read them because there are several files you will have to update to make these templates work. smoooooved@yahoo.com seems to have the answers try him.

     I hope the links worked ok. I don’t ever use my ftp server so I wan,t sure it would work. each one of the templates has a Pdf installation file to tell you how to install it. create a temp folder and unrar the files and you will see the installation Pdf.
     Since each one of you use a different place to host your site.
     it will be near impossibe to explain every installation. i will warn you if you are using yahoo or godaddy to host your site you will need someone a whole lot smarted than me to get it to work. Some say it is near impossible to install on these two sites. And there is one more but I don’t remember the name. Bo

     If anyone has had trouble downloading it is because I have been testing a couple new scripts and keep the ftp tied up Sorry about that. Don’t forget login-guest password-guest.
     If you fail to login with anything other than guest my server will ban your IP address after a few tries. if this has happened to you email me and I will remove you from the ban list. Thanks have fun.

     For all the newbees. Here are the things you need before install.
     Before you install any of these templates:
     1. Php5
     2:mysql or another database maker
     3.mysqladmin
     4.templates which are really the whole oscommerce program
     5.make sure to install these one at a time and make sure they are working before going to the next one. all these can be downloaded free just google them. All these programs have install help. read them and don’t skip any steps. I hope this helps

     Server Requirement Error: register_globals is disabled in your PHP configuration. This can be enabled in your php.ini configuration file or in the .htaccess file in your catalog directory.

     Davor I am not much on PHP, but that error is in your PHP directory, not oscommerce. You must go to your PHP file,
     C:\\php or where ever you have it installed. Find the PHP.ini
     file and go to the line for register_globals and remove the off
     and type on and save it. Make sure you save it as php.ini

     I am not yet familiar of installing template to a webhosts or selling online and i hope to use your oscommerce template. I just like to ask, do i just have to install this template to my webhosts and the website is active already? or do i need to install anything else like shopping cart etc…?
     And also , i tried download a oscommerce package zip in their site and install in my host, do i have to remove it all and put only the template i downloaded from you? And also I have questions because when i type my domain i.e. http://www.mydomain.com…..my website is blank, but, if i type……..www.mydomain.com/catalog/index.php,the file from oscommerce site was there. Could you please tell me what should i do, so that the template can be seen in i.e. http://www.mydomain.com? Please advise.

     @jazz information regarding the installation of oscommerce can be found on their website.
     What I can tell you is that if you want your script installed on the root directory to have the shop located on http://www.example.com and not http://www.example.com/catalog/index.php you need to put the files within the “catalog” folder directly to your public_html folder (root directory).
     For this you need to uninstall what you have installed and re-upload everything from catalog folder to public_html directory then re-install.
     Hope this helps.

     When you see the code. You ONLY have to type the letters were you can see the pussy embedded. I was typing each letter all the time. My mistake!

     So I tried removing it and re install my ecommerce package from oscommerce.com and it was okay. I removed again. again reinstall again one of your template, but still error occurs.      This is a patch that will remove the need to enable ‘register_globals’ in the php.ini file. In fact, once it is applied,, register_globals MUST be disabled otherwise it will not work.

     Just installed it ‘on top’ off a new instaled 2008 test web shop, with danish language pack.

     Before the installation of the new theme the version said 2008 in the bottom in the admin panel, now 2005? is this okay?

     I also have a problem changing the admin panel language to danish after installation of the new theme, so i tried to reinstall the language package, still i can’t change to danish admin panel Any idea why?

     You might have none of the danish files in admin/includes/language in your site…what you did for includes/language….
     First crosscheck for the files in admin/includes/language and make changes in admin panel >> localisation >> languages

     The templates are beautiful. Nicely laid out and I have had no trouble setting them up.

     I believe I have found an issue with one template (pets) where this is no log out link which will not allow a visitor to clear the cart when they leave the site. If they return, any items they were considering purchasing previously are still in the cart.

     Further more this commits that inventory so other shoppers might not be able to purchase.

     On top of this the “Remove” check box in the shopping cart does not actually remove the item.

     I have been posting on the osC forum but everyone says that because it is a template I am to talk with the designer.

     I have not yet tried your suggestion only because my concern is with any online shopper who may pick 3 or 4 items and when the go to check out they decide they don’t want 2 of them. When they select the “Remove” checkbox in the cart and hit update, nothing happens. All the items are still there.

     I don’t want to go live until this issues is resolved. Thanks for any help you can be.

     1. There is a little code on the upper right hand corner on almost every page. I don’t even know how it got created.

     2. Can you tell me how to create a shipping.php page. I tried creating one by renaming the about us page to shipping and connecting it to the language/english/shipping.php file but I get an error on the page. You can view the error here http://www.saint-vil.com/shipping.php

     Gladymir adding a new page is not hard but the info to addd a page is to large to put on this Blog. You will have to undo all that you have done to correct the errors because you have removed or changed some of the PHP files. probably be best to start over and reinstall the store.      I also have 2 more problems.

     1 My “My Account” page doesn’t work neither does my “Checkout” page

     2. I am unable to backup the database at all. The database backup area in the admin section, has this error message along the top of the page —> Error: Backup directory does not exist. Please set this in configure.php.
     I have the appropriate attributes and I don’t know if I am suppose to edit something in there.

     Hello, great blog, very useful. Question, I have set up OSC on my server at /catalog/. Now I’ve just uploaded a 2nd copy to /catalog/weddinglist/ because whilst it’s the same shop and products and db, I need the latter looking slighty different. I need to change all the links/paths as when accessing the 2nd shop, by clicking links it reverts back to the /catalog/ shop. Could you guide me to the right direction on how to do this? I am sure it’s very simply but I’m a newbie and stuck with it. Many thanks and best wishes, Paul

     I’m trying to install one of your templates (Great template BTY!) on my Mac using Mamp Pro and get the register_globals issue. Following the various fixes for this in your blog have got me nowhere. On a Mac I cant see the .htaccess and turning on register_globals in the php.ini makes no difference at all. I pasted the very long fix you published on 1 February and that gave me encoding errors. I am also concerned that once I transfer my developed site to a host server, which will also have register_globals off, that I will run into further issues. Are you able to advise?

     While you can enable register_globals via php.ini as suggested, a better method is to enable it only for the specific applications that need it. This is done by creating an .htaccess file. While Apache normally defaults to disallowing .htaccess overrides, a quick change to Apache’s configuration file (httpd.conf) will allow us to make folder-specific overrides. Since you’ve already performed that step as part of the required reading above, we’ll forge ahead and enable register_globals via the .htaccess file.
     # osCommerce already comes with its own .htaccess file, which we’re going to modify in order to turn the register_globals setting on. Assuming you have already moved the osCommerce catalog folder to the /Library/WebServer/Documents/ as directed above, switch to the Terminal, copy and paste the following command, and hit return:

     open -e /Library/WebServer/Documents/catalog/.htaccess

     This command will open up the .htaccess file with TextEdit. At the end of the file you will find the following commented-out block:

     Annie Mamp pro is just a bundle of software but it is still an Apache server.

     # Apache web server
     # MySQL database server
     # phpMyAdmin to access your MySQL databases
     # PHP as a module for the web server
     I haven’t use it. Most of them like xamp,lamp and so on are all a little different,but all use apache for the server side. So just work on the over rides. I posted before. Your site may be installed in the root,public.html or some other folder since most all the bundled software with apache is a little different you will have to decide that.      The title is 13 free oscommerce template but I can’t see any link, except this notice:

     In order to become a member, I need to pay 10$. So, what is the “free” mean? I don’t want direct link. Any download link is ok for me. I just need to know whether I can download this package really FREE?

     Templates are beatyfull, congratulations for your excelent work.

     I have 2 questions:

     Once installed, when a I connect to admin panel, no login is requested. So, any use is able to access to admin panel. Is it a bug? Have I forgot someting?

     What about osCommerces updates? Is it possible to update to new versions? If not, don’t you think that it’s a high security risk?

     Diego it is not a high security risk if you know how to run your server. These are ms 2.2 oscommerce before the admin login was put in it. Surely you can go to your c-panel or v-deck panel and password protect the admin folder. If help is needed to do this just ask.

     Yes, I can protect admin folder by using Cpanel …, but security level is lower than a built-in login system.

     Asif it means you have not put the database name in the install.

     You must first create a database in mysql before you can install the template.

     I urgently need help to install your otherwise wonderful Oscommerce templates.

     I have a shop I have to get a better template for from among the 13 offered here.

     In spite of trying to follow the countless tutorials around, I dont seem to get how to do, though I think the problem is not big at all.

     I overwrote the current shop files & tried to “upgrade” as opposed to a new installation, using the template files from this site, but repeatedly got errors involving I think functions/database.php towards the end.
     The site at the end was deformed.

     After several trials with the different themes, I tried simply installing a new shop from scratch using the template files new database.
     This seems to run well, but then I noticed when feeding in the required information, I was not asked for the administrator username & password.
     Consequently, there was none created & when one goes to the admin. area, it is fully accessible to anyone. There is even no administrators db table created.

     I uploaded the files of oscommerce-2.2rc2a & for a fresh installation. This run well, with an administrator account created.

     On overwriting these files with the preferred template files, the administrator links in admin area disappeared.
     For all the 13 themes, installation when using their available files ALONE would run well, but as said no administrators, meaning anyone can access the admin area.
     I tried other themes as well from other sources.

     I tried importing an “administrators” table from the original oscommerce installation, thinking may be it is just being left out, but going to shop/admin/login.php gives an error that there’s no such a table.

     So my questions:

     * how does one successfully install any of these 13 templates & also have an administrators option at the end??
     Is there anyway to UPGRADE the current shop without having to start from scratch?

     If this works only with an old version of Oscommerce, which one is it & where can I get it from in case the client wants one of these templates?

     * Could it be that these templates are INCOMPATIBLE with the current version of oscommerce?

     * I saw a post in the Oscommerce forum where someone who had a similar problem being told he first has to upgrade the template files to oscommerce-2.2rc2a first & that it involves using Winmerge & etc to compare files & that it’s time consuming task. Someone needed 5 hours. Is this all necessary?

     * I keep seeing in zipped files of templates an “Extras” folder. What are its contents for & those are folders outside the “catalog” folder?

     Anyway, I’d be grateful to get quick help to successful install at least of the mentioned themes or get some specific guidance to help deal with these issues.
